Ascertain What Fast Internet Access is & Rejoice in Watching Television Over the Internet
Written by Josslyn Cratch
Monday, 14 July 2008

Broadband is high speed net access, & is far quicker than old dial-up access over a modem. If you yourself are viewing this broadband guide then you are possibly looking at securing worldwide web access for the very first time, or looking to go up to broadband.

The main perk of broadband is people are able to watch telly over the internet, all this has became exceedingly popular with ITV launching their new website which will allow you to watch the most recent episodes of Gossip Girl. With high speed broadband you yourself will also get dance music and Hollywood movies at a much better speed than super slow dial-up access. Discover broadband deals and packages, use the comparison site Compare Broadband UK.

Fast broadband is uncomplicated to set up. The 1 st step users will need to do is sign up with an ISP, sometimes known as an Internet Service Provider, & the broadband organisation will supply you with a connection through your telephone line. If you currently have an Internet Service Provider then please make sure surfers seek an internet provider comparison online website for neutral guidance on the cheapest wireless broadband deals. You might quickly note the finest deals with a broadband comparison website by simply entering in your town and then the site will give a list of fast broadband packages in your location. You yourself will be under no pressure to register with any high speed internet provider while users look through the supplier offers.

Once users have signed up with your ISP the business will probably arrange a day for turning on the broadband and supply you with any required hardware & software. The routers and software may come with step by step guides and the majority of broadband organisations will probably offer you IT support if needed.

Once people have successfully connected to the internet you can start to revel in the fast speeds of high speed broadband. If surfers are going to download music, telly programmes such as Roswell or romantic movies please be wary of any download allocations people may have on your package. Pop music and TV downloads such as Friends will take up a lot of your ‘download allocation’ as the music and telly shows are big in file size.

A great stock market for dummies rule that many beginner investors aren’t aware of is make money on dividend stocks. With this type of stocks, investors are able to obtain consistent income. Stocks with high dividend yields provide investors with an alternative motive to invest in their stocks. That’s because investors are paid quarterly a pre-determined percentage of the current stock price.

There are two types of dividend stocks the first being stocks with high growth rates. Although these are not very common with the stock market, there are times when you’ll find an oddity where a stock has a high growth rate along with a high dividend yield. It’s an oddity because companies like to entice investors to their stock with high dividend yields when their company growth rate is low.

A second and more common type of dividend stock is those with low growth rates. These companies are more well know because they are so big. Usually, these companies have been around for decades and have gotten as big as they are going to get. Green Transport and reduce your carbon footprint
Written by Damaris Gaarder

Going climate and green friendly is something that is going to change us all in the next six years. We have Environmental Travel, Electric Driven Cars & Bio Fuels to look at now. Find out why electric cars are so good for the environment, Click Here.

There are several breeds of Bio Fuels. Biological Fuels are many essentially plant based alternatives to oil- based Diesels such as petrol, diesel and heating oil. Burning biodiesel produces CO2 emissions, still this is equalized by the fact that the plants used to generate it uses CO2 emissions from around the environment to develop. Though the green advantages of Biological Diesels are hotly conversed, with some climate and green friendly commentators stating that Biological Diesel cause more harm than good. There are many 2 prime types of Biological Diesel and Ethanol.

As the type means, biodiesel is intended for use in diesel cars. Biological Diesel is really comparable to vegetable oil and is generated from the same breeds of plants- oil rich sources such as sunflower, palm, rapeseed and groundnut. Biological Diesel will often also be produced from ox fat or oils reused from Malaysian cuisine restaurants. Biodiesel should be used smart in some diesel cars, but nevertheless, at this current time Biological Diesel is more traditionally found in a mixture with regular diesel- frequently 21 percent biodiesel with diesel fuel. This mix can often be tried by any regular diesel engine.

Ever thought about obtaining a environmentally friendly car? There is two varieties the G WIZ electric car & the Mega City. All the above is genuinely climate and green friendly machines; in fact the electric cars are an environmental daydream. Biological Diesel do not construct any C02 emissions in fact much more to the point Biological Diesel don’t even own an exhaust pipe. For the reason that you power an eco car from renewable energy, it makes no CO2 emissions. Even if this battery driven car has lots of advantages it does have several cons as well. The apparent one being it is a climate change friendly car and it could only do 107 miles before you have to charge the battery & this in general has to be completed over the course of the night, if you are arranging on doing an extended excursion, this may have to be concluded over the course of a few excursions.

Liquid Crystal Display televisions usually known as LCD televisions are tellies which utilise Liquid Crystal Display technology for visual output. The technology used is on the whole thin film transistor (more commonly known as TFT), because this tolerates for size, and more specifically depth reduction, lower weights and reduced energy consumption. Liquid Crystal Display screens are for the majority of the time now used as desktop VDU displays.

In the early hours Liquid Crystal Display TV's had hitches when compared against the well thought-of visual display technologies for the TVs and desk-top screen marketplace from the time-honoured cathode ray tube products, with traits such as energy efficiency being hugely important when put next to the CRT design. With Liquid Crystal Display TVs regularly making newer and superior advances all the time it enables it to fight besides adversary technologies, comprising of plasma flat panels & rear projection TV's for large- screen High-Definition Television.

My Take on Mosquito-Zappers
Written by Mosquito Hater
Sunday, 11 May 2008

ZAP! Crackle. Pop. Snap. I watch with a sinister grin as the pesky little insects and bugs find their way to the bright light. It's a serene and wondrous blue light that lures them in like moths to a flame. They can't resist. Especially the gnats and mosquitoes. But I don't feel bad. Naa, not even one little bit. It's survival of the fittest down here and I'm tired of getting bit up every summer. I could care less if all the insects found their way to the mosquito zappers hanging around my patio. At least then I could relax out back with a beer and a bratwurst in my hand. Ah, can't you just picture it now?

No one likes bugs! And don't start talking about The Grissom character on "CSI." That's a fictional television series that clearly doesn't have anything to do with art imitating life. The guy is strange! Most of us humans here in the real world get annoyed with insects and bugs. The two that bother me are mosquitoes and ticks. Yeah, those are the nasty little buggers that bring viruses and disease. I could care less about fuzzy spiders and fat bumble bees. Now, there is a solution, or at least a type of remedy to my dilemma. It all begins with the new-age mosquito zappers. We've all seen these before. A bug gets enticed, zooms in and ZAP. He's as dead as a doornail. But, have you ever heard of mosquito magnets? This is one of the more recent devices used to warn off mosquitoes. It works against their sensors somehow, telling them to keep away. With a quality mosquito magnet, you can literally keep mosquitoes out of your yard entirely. Now that's what I call AWESOME.

How effective are high-tech insect magnets and mosquito zappers? Well, these devices usually take care of a certain vicinity. Obviously you can't turn on a few mosquito zappers, and expect to go walking around the neighborhood without getting bit. This is where insect repellent reigns supreme. Bust out some DEET and mist it over your limbs and torso. This is the best way to keep those irksome little insects from biting while you're enjoying the summer months. And remember to check out the latest mosquito zappers at your local home store.

You might want to be careful with that method however, as you might find yourself sitting in front of the TV with no thoughts of implementing your remodeling ideas any time soon! Laminated floors are always a good idea because of their durability.

Carnival Glass: Beautiful And Valuable
Written by Jed Skouse
Friday, 07 March 2008

Introduced as Iridescent Ware in 1907, carnival glass acquired that name unofficially from collectors in the 1950s. This marvelous glassware acquired its nickname from the metallic layer on its outside, which constantly changed colors. Iridescent Ware was made in ornately patterned molds, and was sprayed with a mixture of metallic salts before it had started to cool, which allowed for the color-changing effects that gave the glass its fame.

Carnival glass is a colored, inexpensive pressed glass that was used to make both functional and ornamental objects. It can be found in a wide range of iridescent colors. Carnival glass is sometimes called dope glass by glass workers because doping is the process of applying the color to the glass surface. Carnival glass production started in 1907. It was used in production of many different pieces and in more than 150 patterns. However, since it did not command the prices expected, it was subsequently discounted.

Translucent colors such as amethyst, marigold, cobalt, green, and red compose this glass, though it is also made in an opaque white referred to as milk glass. The glass was also made in semi-transparent or translucent pale green, and was called Vaseline or uranium glass; trace amounts of uranium salts were contained in the glass, which could produce a faint green glass glow in reaction to UV light. This was, of course, before the hazards of radiation were fully known and understood.

One of the largest producers of this kind of glass was Millersburg glass Company, Ohio. The first glass products of the company were crystal, but the Millersburg plant decided to ride the wave of enthusiasm for iridescent glassware. Thus, in early 1910, the Millersburg Company brought out its line of Radium glassware

The prices of Carnival glass vary widely depending on their quality and availability. This glass is a highly collectible item with some of the pieces worth very little, while other, rarer items command thousands of dollars. There is a very active market for this item since it has become an antique glass collectible.

Identification of carnival glass is very difficult task. Most of the manufacturers did not include a maker's mark in their product, while the others did so only for part of the time they produced the glass. To identify this glass, one has to match patterns, colors, sheen, edges, thickness, and other factors from old manufacturer's trade catalogs, other known examples, or other reference material. Since many manufacturers produced close copies of their rivals' popular patterns, identifying it is a challenge even for an expert.

Carnival glass or Iridescent Ware was introduced in 1907 and had a metallic sheen from a spray of salts when hot. This inexpensive pressed glass, also known as dope glass is made for functional/ornamental objects. Due to lack of demand price was discounted. Available colors are primarily amethyst/marigold/cobalt/green/red. Vaseline or uranium glass had uranium salts and hence was discontinued. Millersburg glass Company was the greatest producer of this type of glass. Initially this was made as crystal and later on as iridescent glassware. The prices vary depending on their quality/availability. This is antique glass collectible and has market. Identification of this glass is based on patterns/colors/sheen/edges/thickness etc.

After triggering the mechanism, the heater continues to provide a flow of hot water. The maximum rate of flow at a specific temperature depends on the heater's capacity. Generally speaking, water heaters that are gas operated have bigger capacities than ones that are electrically powered.

Tankless water heaters are evaluated by the greatest rate of current at which a preferred temperature is encountered. Water heater features include the ability to set a release temperature. There is also a much higher rate of effectiveness with tankless water heaters as it reduces the possibility of standby losses.

The advantage of this kind of heater with respect to the others is that other Electric water heaters require a relatively high electric power because water must be heated quickly to the desired temperature. Residential gas models are also available which can heat more than five gallons per minute by 60°F, which is more than sufficient for two showers to be run simultaneously. One must note that whole house electric units typically have a capacity closer to three gallons per minute.

Soccer - The Job of a Goalkeeper
Written by Bill Brennan
Tuesday, 26 February 2008

One of the hardest positions on the soccer field is the job of the goalkeeper. The goalkeeper must always be the leader on a soccer field. For good measure, excellent leadership skills are a must due the fact that a goalkeeper must control all the defenders and all the players on a field in an attack from the opponent.

The goalkeeper needs to be one of the most conditioned players on the field that is never taken into any serious light by field players. Goalkeepers do not necessarily have to do a lot of running but to dive long distances takes conditioning abilities that field players will never have nor will ever understand completely. The shear fact of diving is always taken as an understatement for most people. Diving will take much more than just basic physical skill.

The Goalie must be able to let their body come into extreme contact with the unforgiving ground of earth. Getting to the level of Diving that world class goalkeepers are at, needs a lot of physical strength and training. For one thing, proper technique is a must and muscle power is the next thing that needs to be acquired. The proper technique of diving comes from the muscle power in the legs, primarily the calf, leg, and thigh portions. Strength training, resistance training, and weight training are primary areas of working out that needs to be built up over a player’s life and career.

The next most important muscle in diving is the core or abdomen areas of a player. These muscles need to be good to stay air flight for as long as possible and to propel a player through the air in order to get air flight. The next part of diving is proper technique. The fist step in proper technique is foot placement and ability. Footwork is about getting ready to dive and having quick enough feet to get into position for a good dive. The last step must always be a good and long step known as the power step. This is what helps propel the goalkeeper. The last part of diving in the air and propelling the goalkeeper is the hip movement. A player must use his or her hips to propel his or her self through the air to make a save. The additional part of diving is to be able to give up any part of the body in order to save a goal.

The last part any goalie should be worried about his or her gloves but it is a vital piece of equipment that can help a goalie. Gloves must be pliable enough to make any type of movement and any type of ordinary hand movement. Gloves should always be pretty snug to the hands in order to make good contact with the ball and make good catches. The other reason for snug fitting gloves is so the gloves fit on the hands and do not cause any risk to dropping or misplaying the ball.

Another game that can benefit from wearing gloves is Billiards. This may be surprising but billiard gloves can make a difference to your game.

Dvd Portable Players: Choosing The Best
Written by Larry Tiflin
Monday, 25 February 2008

Portable DVD players are a good option for a family taking any kind of vacation, both taking the plane or taking the car. There is a wide choice of portable DVD players to choose from in the market, and most have additional features which are useful for all users.

While choosing a portable DVD player one should not compromise on the size of the screen. If you are going to use it see movies while traveling then you should buy a player with wide screen as it will not put strain on your eyes even if you watch movies for long hours. The larger screen also gives a better viewing experience and more people can easily watch it. But the other side of the coin is that it is more troublesome to carry wide screen portable DVD player.

Video and Audio outputs available on DVD players are things to be considered when choosing the product. Checking the availability of the outputs like S-Video, component video and optical output for audio with high quality ensure the best movie experience possible. It is also crucial to check the availability of video outputs if one does not have a built-in screen because of the small size of the player.

Some DVD players nowadays come with HDMI-out, or High Definition Multimedia Interface. This cable allows high definition video resolutions and high-quality audio, and many newer DVD players have this option for video and audio output. However, you will be hard pressed to find HDMI DVD players that are small and portable. HDMI usually is found on models used for home entertainment, not for the road. Some expensive laptops that play DVDs have HDMI-out, but those are not very easy to come by.

Living and Family Room Updates
Tuesday, 20 November 2007

Everyone wants an attractive living area space, whether it is only a living room, a great room, or both living and family rooms. Formal living rooms are pretty much a thing of the past, if you are talking about French Provicial and Queen Ann furnishings and décor. A “formal” effect can still be attained, but with a much more modern look and these types of improvements can be a bit costly.Try these ideas to change your Living Room

Window Treatments

Get rid of the lace curtains or the heavy drapes in favor of shades or blinds, formalizing them with newer valance treatments. These range from graceful to stark, dependent upon your tastes, and are relatively reasonable. You no longer have to have a drapery expert make these to order. Fabulous rods with draped valances can be completed in 30 minutes. If you opt for blinds, avoid the cheap plastic numbers at discount stores. Choose instead the dust-resistant faux wood models which give a much richer appearance.

Flooring

There are beautiful, lush carpets available for rooms in which there is not a lot of traffic. You can even get by with a cheaper carpet in a room only used on holidays or for occasional entertaining. Heavy traffic flow and constant occupancy of a room, however, is murder on carpet, and you will see the grime and wear in a short time. Consider ceramic or laminate wood flooring, accenting the floor space with a great area rug. Other more modern options are cork floors and rubber floors.

Walls

Never have there been so many options for walls. A neutral standard paint is always a good bet, and you can enhance any painted wall with art or wallpaper borders. In addition, check out magazines for great new looks in wall treatments. From textured painting, to accent walls, to the newer roll painting with designs and stripes, you will find any number of great ideas for your own walls. A word of caution about newer painting styles – these can be tricky and should not be attempted without some instruction usually offered by home improvement stores for free. .

Fireplaces

If you don’t have a fireplace and really want one, you are in luck. You can now buy an electric fireplace that fits right up against a wall, needs no venting, and gives a relatively realistic fire appearance. As well, consider built-in book shelves on either side. These now come pre-made, and installation takes about 45 minutes.

Furniture

Don’t scrimp on furniture. This may mean that you have to buy one piece at a time, but accept it. If you are changing the entire tone of your living or family room, buy your first piece, and purchase covers for the old pieces until they can be replaced. You’ll feel that everything still “goes” together. And, as you add new pieces, be aware of the total effect you want. Don’t buy all solid colors unless you plan to do lots of accenting with pillows and throws. Otherwise, you will become very bored in short order.

Art

Art is so subjective, that no advice can really be given to anyone regarding this. But, your art should match the general scheme – really modern, traditional, mildly contemporary, etc. Don’t put Aunt Gert’s framed needlepoint up in a room that is clearly contemporary. And don’t crowd rooms with artwork. There is nothing wrong with some bare spaces. Family pictures belong in small frames on tables or in albums in a bookcase, not all over the walls of your living space.

Dependent upon the amount of change you want, improving your main living space can be very reasonable or hugely expensive. Remember though, that you can do this in segments – you have to learn patience and be willing to go through the transition period without anxiety.

Curb Appeal is Easy, Inexpensive, and Valuable
Friday, 16 November 2007

For most people, their home is their most valuable asset. It is important, then, to maintain your property and to continually improve your investment, so when you are ready to sell it, it is attractive, updated, and ready to compete with every other house on the market.

We immediately think of 'how to repair the hardwood floor 'or 'how to fix the squeaky floor' but it is the outside we need to consider first.

Curb appeal is an easy home improvement, but an important one, because it is the first impression that guests and potential buyers have. There are some simple, inexpensive steps to take in order to enhance and preserve the appearance.

1. First, walk across the street and take a black and white picture of the front of your house (disposable cameras are cheap). Black and white photos remove all of the color and you get stark reality. Look at the front of your home as an objective observer. Are there distractions which could easily be removed, such as garden hoses, those old pots which you really need to get rid of? Is the paint peeling around doors and windows? How old does the front door look? Make cleanup your first order of business.

2. Look carefully at your landscaping. Are bushes and trees overgrown? Are the landscaping borders hidden by overgrown grass? Is the landscaping design generally unattractive or boring? Before hiring an expensive landscape architect or bringing in other outsiders to design a new landscape, try it on our own. Begin looking through magazines for designs that appeal to you and look good with a house of your general shape and size. Drive around town and look at what others have done. You can get great ideas and, with a few garden tools, muscle, and a trip to your local nursery, you can completely change the appearance of your home, and you will save thousands of dollars doing it on your own.

3. The remainder of your home’s facelift might involve paint, concrete fillers, and some additional enhancements, such as new vinyl fencing and shutters. Again, look at other homes and magazine pictures for your ideas.

Other inexpensive improvements to the outside of your home will be just as dramatic as new landscaping. A side or back porch with a roof can be screened in relatively inexpensively; deck boards can be replaced and the entire deck re-stained or replaced with newer vinyl materials. Garage door frames, if wood, most assuredly decompose, especially where they meet the ground. For about $100, new vinyl framing can be purchased and installed with simple written instructions.

Driveways can be horrible distractions and, if left to decompose too long, can be far more expensive to repair than if attacked early and maintained often. Here, initial repair is best left to a professional and then routine maintenance for preservation can be performed by you at little cost.

Truly, an outside “facelift” can be one of the easiest, inexpensive, and yet most dramatic home improvements to be made. If your home is structurally sound, most improvements can be accomplished over a weekend and at reasonable cost, if you are willing to be the “muscle,” read the instructions, and see a job through to its completion.

Step-By-Step Guide For Installing a New Sink and Faucet ? Part 2
Thursday, 01 November 2007

Sometimes giving your kitchen or bathroom a new look is as easy as installing a new sink and faucet. Faucets no longer serve only one purpose – faucets are now a way to add to the décor of a kitchen or bathroom – and there are many choices available.

This is part 2 of this article you will find an introduction and Steps 1 and 2 in the previous article.

Step 3 – If you have a garbage disposal, disconnect the disposal from the sink. To disconnect the disposal from the sink, insert a long screwdriver into the lugs on the ring that attaches the disposal to the sink flange and give it a twist. Once loose, lift the disposal off of the drainpipe. Don’t forget to remove the mounting bracket from the old sink – this will need to be installed on the new sink in order to mount the disposal to the new sink. Pry the retaining clip off the drain flange and loosen the screws on the bracket in order to remove it from the old sink.

Step 4 – If the sink is secured to the countertop by clamps, loosen the screws in the clamps to remove them from the sink. Insert a putty knife under the edges of the sink to loosen the sink, and then lift the sink out of the sinkhole.

Step 5 – Measure the countertop opening and compare it to the template provided with the new sink. If the sink is the same size, it should easily drop into the existing hole. If the new sink is larger, you will need to use the jigsaw in order to expand the opening in the sink cabinet.

Step 6 – Before you place the new sink into position on the countertop, follow the instructions that came with the faucet and attach the faucet to the sink.

Step 7 – Once the new faucet has been installed, drop the sink into the hole. Once the sink has been placed into the countertop, lift the sink slightly and apply a layer of silicon sealant around the edge of the opening. Apply pressure to set the sealant. Attach the clamps if needed to secure the sink to the countertop. Before proceeding to the next step, let the sink sit for 30 minutes, allowing the sealant to securely seal the sink to the countertop.

Step 8 – Install the new strainers by applying plumber’s putty to the underside of the each strainer flange and set the strainers into the holes, apply gentle pressure to allow the putty to set.

Step 9 – Attach the plumbing to the sink drain and the reconnect the water supply to the new faucet. If you have a garbage disposal, reconnect it to the sink. To reconnect the plumbing and drainpipes, reverse the steps you took when disconnecting them.

Step 10 – Turn on the water to check for leaks. Watch the plumbing for several days after installation so that you can tighten fittings or add sealant as necessary to stop any small leaks that may occur.

Now that your new sink is installed it is time to think about a new floor; take a look at these flooring options before you decide on anything – you will be surprised at just how many flooring options there are.

Step-By-Step Guide For Installing a New Sink and Faucet Part 1
Thursday, 01 November 2007

An inexpensive alternative to completely redecorating your kitchen or bathroom to give the room a different look is installing a new sink and faucet. This is a great facelift for both the kitchen and the bath – and one that the do-it-yourselfer can successfully complete.

The first step is choosing the sink and faucet – and there are many choices available. Sink come in a variety of sizes and colors from single to double sinks. Faucets are also available in many styles from simple to elaborate. Make a trip to your hardware store, and with the rest of the décor of the room in mind, browse through the many choices available and find the right fit for you and your home. Take into consideration your countertop; curtains; cupboard doors and flooring materials. Once you have chosen and purchased your new sink and faucet, the fun begins.

Tools and Materials

With any do-it-yourself project, it is important to have the necessary tools on hand. Here is a list of the tools and materials you will need to install your new sink and faucet:

Tools:

Water pump pliers - Crescent wrench – Screwdriver - Basin wrench - Putty knife - Jigsaw (in case it is necessary to enlarge the hole in the countertop) – Flashlight - Bucket - Towel.

Materials:

Sink – Faucet - Strainer set - Plumber’s putty - Silicon sealant

Step-by-Step Installation Process

Step 1 – Find the shutoff valve for the water. In some cases, this will be under the sink. In some cases, the shutoff valve may be located somewhere else along the water lines. If there is no shutoff valve, it will be necessary to shut off the main water supply. Once the water supply is stopped, turn on the faucet so that water and air pressure escape from the lines. For sinks with garbage disposals, be sure to turn off the power to the garbage disposal by turning off the breaker switch and unplugging the garbage disposal.

Step 2 – Disconnect the existing sink and faucet from the plumbing. Using a crescent wrench or a basin wrench, disconnect the faucet from the water supply lines. Then use the water pump pliers to disconnect the sink from the drainpipes. Be sure to have the bucket and towel nearby in order to clean any spills that may occur when you disconnect the faucet and the sink.

The next steps are followed in Part 2.

How you can improve your Mind, Body and Spirit
Tuesday, 02 October 2007

Everyday women are stressed with everyday life; cooking, cleaning, careers, kids and spouses. You may feel pulled in several directions. You probably handle everything that comes your way and then crash in the bed when you finally get everyone to sleep and things prepared for the next day. You may feel unappreciated, run down, run over and unhealthy. You can change these feelings into a more positive feeling by learning how to balance your mind, body and spirit. When these three work as a unit instead of individuals it becomes easier to handle everything.

Relaxing may seem impossible but its not that hard to do and it is important for stress relief. You could spend hours in the kitchen and the laundry when you get home from work but remember that all of that will be there tomorrow. You will never get another today so take time out of your schedule to hang out with your kids and watch a movie or talk to them about their day. If you go to bed and the dinner dishes are not done, don’t worry you can deal with it tomorrow. If your body says its time for bed you need to get ready. Take a few minutes before you close your eyes to read a page or two from your favorite book or listen to a song on the radio. This is a way that you can show your body that you want to relax and you appreciate your body.

Get Plenty of Rest - When you get enough rest at night your body has time to do many things; heal, fight potential colds and infections, de-stress, and relax. When you wake up after a good night's rest you wake up with a positive outlook on your day. If your life is busy and hectic you need a good night's rest even more so. In order to get it you may need to put yourself on a schedule in the evenings that will have all your responsibilities for the day completed by 8:00 or 9:00 at night. This will allow you to prepare for bed and get a good night's rest. If you find that you toss and turn when going to bed this early you may need to put on your favorite CD, as long as it is not heavy metal, so you can relax and unwind. Some lotions, such as Lavender and Chamomile, provide a relaxing aroma that relieves the stress and tension so you can close your eyes and rest.

You also need time to feel good about yourself and be able to take on the world. Take a few moments each day to pamper yourself and in return you will feel refreshed and alive. Feeling run down all the time is not a good feeling so you want to make sure that you don’t go to bed feeling that way. You can take a nice hot soak in the tub with aromatherapy soaps and lotions. Light an aromatherapy candle that will calm and soothe you or do something for yourself. When you make yourself stronger you can help anybody anywhere feel stronger too.

Cash Trust Investments ? Are They For You?
Tuesday, 25 September 2007

There are three variables that all investors have to keep in mind. Security, Liquidity and Rate of Return. Cash trust investments are a good mix of the first two variables, while scoring fairly low in the last one. Still, they have their place in any investor’s balanced portfolio.

A cash trust investment is an investment product that pools the assets of several small investors and shops them around to banks, buying Certificates of Deposits (CDs) at advantageous interest rates. Because of the large sums invested, banks are willing to give a better investment rate for them. Most of these CDs are bought as ladders – the money is divided into 12 parts and CDs are bought sequentially. By spreading the investments out over several banks, with all deposits kept at $98,000 each. As the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) insures individual deposits of up to $100,000 in the United States, this retains insurance on your investment and makes the investment more secure.

Because of the aggregated nature of a cash trust investment its liquidity is generally better than buying individual CDs as a private investor. The well managed cash trust fund maintains around 15 to 20% of its assets in liquid form, making it possible for them to help an investor who needs to liquidate his holdings to meet a near term financial emergency. On top of that, most of these investments have somewhere close to 10% of their assets (bought as Certificates of Deposit) maturing every calendar month. This compares well to the lack of liquidity in fixed investments and bonds and bond funds.

From the perspective of a small investor, Cash Trust investments are low-yield and fairly safe products. They often turn on regularized payouts, much like buying an annuity for a structured settlement. If you’re going to do a cash trust investment, treat it as your middle term reserve fund. It’s going to be a stable vehicle for your finances, but it’s not going to grow your asset base that much. Using the traditional retirement mix of packages, a cash trust investment is a good resource to do in the last 5 or 7 years before retirement and should be gradually phased out in favor of a bond fund after retirement. Many, but not all cash trust investments request that you pay a regular amount in each month, on top of an initial $2,000 investment.

The best benefit of a cash trust fund is its low overhead. Because there’s little risk in it and there’s little pressure to “pick the hottest stocks”, there’s strong price competition among vendors – the setup fees are fairly low and the transaction fees taken from payments to you are also small and often times waived. This compares well with the transaction fees on mutual and hedge funds and the broker percentages taken from payouts.
