Skate Companies And Charity - Billabong’s Design For Humanity Event Crushes It

On June 28, 2010 in Uncategorized

Often, snowboard and skate companies lend a helping hand to local non profits as well as charities. The skateboarding community has many groups dedicated to helping out the less fortunate. As an example, take the Tony Hawk Foundation, started by one of the innovators of the sport, Tony Hawk himself.
Recently Billabong held their yearly charity party called “Design For Humanity” at Paramount Studios in Los Angles, CA.
This years event was to benefit and raise awareness for The Invisible Childrens Charity. The Invisible Children Charity hopes to create awareness of children forced into armed combat in Uganda, and gather protesters to put a stop to this. This was a cause a lot of people could get behind and support. The event is always a huge hit and this year’s was no exception. The main theme for the party was a New York City block party.
