Seeing as though we are living in difficult times right now, being overly selective about respiratory therapist jobs is unlikely. Finding stability and regular money coming in is most likely enough for the majority of people who would be happy just working at all. Well there is certainly some value to having a job for the sole sake of being employed, but there is also other things to consider. Even a position in respiratory jobs will bring in good money, but if it isn’t rewarding it’s not worth it. Having the best of both worlds while working in the respiratory field is possible.
As for respiratory therapist careers, in order to properly evaluate the severity of their patients’ lung disorders, respiratory therapists assist and guide doctors and other medical staff, and this role can be very gratifying. Ventilator maintenance also falls within their job description. With these roles, it is unlikley that the employee will not feel satisfied. If this is the profession for you, you have many respiratory therapy schools to choose from and enroll in a 2-4 year program. Don’t settle for a career unless it provides both fulfillment and a good salary.
