How SEO can help your business

Search engine optimisation or seo for short, is the procedure used to optimise your site for search engines such as Google If you have an internet business then you will benefit greatly from having a seo friendly website. If your website ranks high for certain keywords you’ll get FREE quality targeted traffic.

How can I make my website seo friendly?

1. Research your keywords

Anyone could get a website to gain a high position, but it’s getting the site to rank high for certain keywords that’s the tricky part! You must do a bit of research here and choose the keywords you wish to get high ranking with. Remember to include some long tail keywords too.

2. Website url

There exists debate whether or not this matters with seo. It’s not vital but in my opinion it is better to include keywords in your url if you are not going for a branding approach.

3. Content

You may of heard some say that “content is king”. Although it is important, it is not one and only thing search engines examine when deciding your rank. You must make sure your content is liked by search engines and your readers. When writing content be sure you write for your readers…not search engines, If your readers like it then search engines will. Ideally, Keyword density in your content needs to be below 5%. Too much or too little will kill your ranking.

4. Links

Now this is a vital factor. One way backlinks work most effectively. However they must be anchored keyword links. Forget trying to spam and get a huge selection of back links from link farms. Google is very clever; you must ensure your link building is natural.

Above is simply a small insight in regards to what constitutes search engine optimisation. Always remember nobody should ever guarantee to get you to the top of Google unless they are using pay per click (Google sponsored links). If you wish to give SEO a go, make sure you contact an SEO Expert.
